I have devoted my life to advocating the path of recovery and erasing the stigma associated with Substance Use Disorder. This all begins by humanizing something often pushed to the shadows. Realizing just how common addiction is (in its many forms) and how deeply it is intertwined with society.
The Opioid Epidemic in the United States effects people from all walks of life. I have worked with clients from every socioeconomic standing; from CEO's of fortune 500 companies to the homeless population and every type of person in between. Despite their inherent differences, a common thread is intertwined between every single client I have ever worked with - The almost compulsive desire to disconnect from strong emotions and (in most cases) emotional pain.

Shatterproof Rise up Against Addiction 5k

I participated in the Shatterproof 5K Denver on July 21, 2018. Shatterproof is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to ending the devastation addiction causes families.
Thanks to the support of the Denver recovery community, I was the #2 individual fundraiser for the event - Raising $1500 for this amazing cause.
Lift the Label Campaign

Scott recently had the honor of participating in the Lift the Label campaign through the Colorado Office of Behavioral Health.
Lift The Label is a public awareness campaign that strives to remove damaging labels and stigmas that prevent those with opioid addiction from seeking effective treatment. Scott shared his story of recovery, and personal experience with the stigma often associated with substance use disorder.
